At Zurich, Belarus topped Finland, 2-1, in Group F Play, as Oleg Antonenko notched the game-winner in the shootout.
Sergei Demagin provided the regulation goal for Belarus, which takes on the Czech Republic on Sunday.

Earlier in Zurich, Jaromir Jagr and Roman Cervenka each scored twice, leading the Czech Republic to an 8-0 rout of Slovakia.
Patrik Elias, Milan Michalek, Ales Kotalik and Miroslav Blatak also scored for the Czechs, who outshot their neighbors 41-18 and handed the Slovakians their worst loss in World Championship history.
The Czechs have six points in Group F with one game remaining. Slovakia is fifth and has just two points with a finale against Norway on Monday.
Only the top four teams from each of the two qualification groups qualify for the single-elimination quarterfinals.
In Group E, Latvia rolled to a 7-1 win over France. Latvia is tied for second with seven points. France is last and has been eliminated from contention for quarterfinal play.
