The four-time National Hockey League all-star right-winger, who signed a 12-year, $62.8-million US contract with the Chicago Blackhawks prior to undergoing off-season shoulder surgery, will suit up Wednesday in San Jose against the Sharks.

He missed the Blackhawks' first 22 games this season.

Hossa, 30, has scored 339 goals and 380 assists in 775 career NHL regular-season games with the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings.

A native of Trencin, Slovakia, Hossa led the Red Wings in goals last season, with 40. He also added 31 assists to finish third in team scoring with 71 points.

The Blackhawks, who are tied for second overall in league standings with a 15-5-2 record, have won seven straight.
