Team USA unveiled at Winter Classic

The 23-man roster for the 2010 U.S. Olympic men's hockey team will be introduced during the NHL's Winter Classic on Jan. 1 at Fenway Park in Boston.

The Boston Bruins face the Philadelphia Flyers in the league's third annual outdoor game.

The men's Olympic hockey competition begins on Feb. 16 and concludes with the gold-medal game on Feb. 28 in Vancouver.

Team USA plays its first game Feb. 16 against Switzerland.

The U.S. roster will include 20 skaters and three goaltenders.

Ron Wilson of the Toronto Maple Leafs is the head coach of the team, with Scott Gordon, head coach of the New York Islanders, and John Tortorella, head coach of the New York Rangers, serving as assistant coaches.

Toronto's Brian Burke is the team's general manager.

Steve Yzerman, executive director for the Canadian men's team, is expected to unveil the Canadian roster between Christmas and New Year's.

Have you even looked at the potential lineup the US will ice? Are you kidding about potential for a medal? Geesh, look at the roster and compare it to Canada, Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic and even Finland. Stop buying the Burke hype. There is NO CHANCE the US will medal. NO FREAKING CHANCE.

Could win the gold so handily every Olympics if their superstars only learned to play as a team. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get... I guess we'll see in Feb

Canada has goaltending issues? It's a tough decision, but they can't really make a bad choice... 3 candidates with stanley cups, and Luongo. These are great issues to have. Canada, Russia, Sweden, and Finland are 4 best teams, any of them could take home gold.

Bettman who hates Canada said that no canadian teams will ever be allowed to play in the winter classic. He has some kind of vendetta against Canada. Why publicly make a statement like that?
