BEST PLEA
"No, but I'd like to see it though - I'll call heads. Does Lou deserve to not get the start? We both like to play a lot and get into a rhythm. A million possibilities out there and we'll go with what the coach and management think is the best."
Cory Schneider when asked if he's seen the coin Alain Vigneault says he flips to determine his starting goalie.
BEST RESPONSE
"I'll take it out tomorrow and figure it out, I'm not going to get into that. I'm going to trust the coin."
Vigneault on refusing to name his starter Saturday against Calgary.
BEST RELIEF
Chris Tanev had his right hand examined after blocking a Dany Heatley shot and there was no indication that the defenceman would be sidelined.
BEST DAY-OFF BET
"For us, coming out the way we did and making strong plays (cough, cough) with the puck and (cough) without the puck (cough) allowed us to get that 2-0 lead. We lost the momentum a bit (cough) by taking two penalties 200 feet from our net, but Schneids made some big saves for us."
Vigneault's post-game assessment that could have used a few cough drops.
BEST PRAISE
"I'm not sure why they're having trouble scoring. He works so hard and gets pucks and keeps it on his stick and shoots from everywhere."
Schneider on leading Wild scorer Zach Parise, who finished with a game-high eight shots.
BEST INCENTIVE
"Jordan has waited for this a long time and told me his dad bought a box, so I better play him. I guess they spent a lot of money on tickets, but he deserves to be in our lineup."
Vigneault on former high-school and University of Minnesota star Jordan Schroeder, who finished with four shots in 13: 32 of ice time.
