THE MATCHUP

After a 3-0 loss Saturday to the St. Louis Blues, the Canucks carry a four-game losing streak to Winnipeg, where they open a three-game road trip against the last non-playoff team they’ll see in a while. The Canucks haven’t scored in 168 minutes. The Jets were beaten 3-2 in overtime Sunday by the Anaheim Ducks and have lost three straight since beating the Canucks 5-2 in Vancouver.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Canucks are 0-2 against the Jets this season and have been outscored 9-3. They trailed Winnipeg 5-0 last Monday in Vancouver before Jared McCann, pictured, and Jake Virtanen scored late, meaningless goals. Marko Dano led the Jets with two goals and an assist and combined with linemates Alex Burmistrov and Mathieu Perreault for seven points. Perreault, however, misses tonight’s game due to a concussion.

INJURY AFRONT

The Canucks announced Monday that veterans Brandon Sutter (broken jaw), Alex Edler (broken leg) and Radim Vrbata (sprained knee), pictured, have been shut down for the season. RW Jannik Hansen (ribs), RW Derek Dorsett (upper body) and D Yannick Weber (upper body) travelled with the team, but only Weber is a candidate to play tonight. D Luca Sbisa (shoulder), C Markus Granlund (upper body) and D Chris Tanev (back) are out.

BURR WARMED

After earning praise from coach Willie Desjardins for playing sick Saturday while nine other Canucks were out injured, Alex Burrows, pictured, has been promoted back to the top line beside Henrik and Daniel Sedin. It is one of the few times this season Burrows will play with the twins on the line that keyed his rise in the NHL and allowed him to average 29 goals per season for four years, starting in 2008-09.

QUOTEBOOK

“I believe if you get the right culture, you’ll win. I believe it’s that simple. When you bring in an awful lot of new guys — not just young guys, it’s new guys — it takes a little bit to establish that culture. We’re in a trying time for the culture right now. When you’re losing, it’s a tough time. It’s so much easier when things are going your way.” — Willie Desjardins, pictured
