VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks announced they have signed centre Jared McCann, the first-round pick they acquired from the Anaheim Ducks last month for star centre Ryan Kesler.

The 18-year-old McCann, obtained with the 24th pick in the June draft, had 27 goals and 62 points in 64 games last season for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. The previous season, the London, Ont., native had 44 points (on 21 goals and 23 assists) in 64 games, earning OHL all-rookie second team honours.
