VICTORIA -- The Vancouver Giants rediscovered their offence Wednesday night and ended a seven-game Western Hockey League losing streak by trouncing the Royals 7-2 in Victoria.

Cain Franson led the Giants’ outburst with two goals and an assist, while singles were added by Jackson Houck, Kale Kessy, Carter Popoff, Riley Kieser and Brett Kulak.

Steven Hodges and Logan Nelson scored for the Royals, who trailed 2-0 after the first period and 4-2 after 40 minutes.

Victoria outshot Vancouver 33-28.

The Giants (8-20-0-0) will aim to make it two wins in a row when they host the Swift Current Broncos on Friday (7:30 p.m.) at the Pacific Coliseum.
