Brandon Magee scores four times as Royals trip Giants 6-4 in Victoria
Victoria stretches WHL win streak to six games, Vancouver winless in five games
VICTORIA — Brandon Magee scored four goals and linemate Alex Gogolev assisted on each of them as the Victoria Royals beat the visiting Vancouver Giants 6-4 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Brandon Fushimi scored twice for the Royals (26-17-3), who extended their win streak to six games, and Brett Cote and Steven Hodges chipped in with two assists apiece.
Jackson Houck scored two goals for the Giants (12-37-0), who are winless in five outings, and Cain Franson and Carter Popoff each scored once.
Patrik Polivka stopped 20 shots for the win as Payton Lee took the loss after allowing five goals on 20 shots before being pulled early in the third period. Jared Rathjen stopped eight shots in 19 minutes of relief.
Victoria went 3-for-5 on the power play while Vancouver scored once on five chances with the man advantage.
The two teams play again Saturday in Victoria, starting at 7 p.m.
