MONTREAL - The condo tower to be built on top of the Montreal Canadiens Bell Centre arena will have 50 floors, two more than originally planned, says the construction consortium led by Cadillac Fairview and the NHL hockey club.

Owners of the 552 units will be given priority to purchase regular season games, skate on the same ice as the league's most successful team and participate in private team workouts.

Residents also have chances to sit in a private box or behind the bench during pre-season games, or take a VIP tour of the players' dressing room.

The Canadiens are partners in Montreal's tallest condo project with developer Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd., Canderel and the FTQ labour union Solidarity Fund.

Prices on the condos at the Tour des Canadiens started at $250,000, but the 32 units on the two added floors are selling for about $350,000. Three-bedroom penthouses cost at least $1.4 million.
