News from the Calgary Flames skate this morning at the American Airlines Center:

* C Blair Jones has cleared waivers. His future, however, is unclear. He didn’t do extra skating in the morning, so he may even suit up tonight against the Dallas Stars. Then again, he may not.

What is known is that Jones, one of the team’s best players a week ago, is entrenched in the dog-house.

"It’s just a matter of . . . we need more," said coach Bob Hartley. "We need more and it’s as simple as this. There’s stuff we can share. There’s stuff we can’t share. At the same time, it’s a matter of having everyone accountable . . . to make the right decisions for everyone in the organization."

* G Joey MacDonald will start tonight. There’s a chance that AHL-hotshot G Danny Taylor may make his first NHL start Monday in Phoenix.

"(Taylor’s) one of those late-bloomers, with the potential of being the next Dwayne Roloson or something like that. I really believe in this, said Hartley. "And now with our situation in net — with Kipper’s injury — it allows us some flexibility. We want to try some experiments."

* RW Blake Comeau is indeed centring one of the Flames’ top lines, with wingers Curtis Glencross and Jarome Iginla.

* LW Sven Baertschi (hip flexor) is with the team — but, according to Hartley, there’s no chance he’ll play tonight or Monday.

Are the Kings done?

No way, just a bump in the road.
Yes, it is over for them.
Don't know.
