A “paddle out” at Oceanside, Calif. this weekend was organized in honour of NFL star Junior Seau, who died last week of a reportedly self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Several hundred people took part in a “paddle out” to honour former NFL star Junior Seau, who died last week.

Seau, an avid surfer, committed suicide last week, an incident that has sparked much discussion about the long-term health effects of professional sports.

Fans and fellow surfers made the trip to honour Seau.
