Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander will tee it up Feb. 7-10 in the PGA's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and he admits he's a little intimidated.

"I was in a long-drive competition one time," Verlander said.

"There was maybe 50 people watching and the club was shaking in my hand."

The self-taught Verlander considers himself a power hitter.

"I guess I can hit the ball a long way," he said. "If it goes straight, it's a good thing."
