Re: “Subban didn’t sound sportsmanlike” (Letters, Jan, 25)
Letter writer D. Mike Shaw criticizes P.K. Subban’s colourful description of how he feels about playing for the Habs. It is ironic how different people can read the same article, yet arrive at divergent interpretations.
It should be glaringly obvious that Subban, as a lifelong Habs fan, was using hyperbole to express his passion for the team, and how proud he feels when playing at the Bell Centre. The writer asks incredulously if a team should pay millions for Subban.
The answer is a resounding yes, as evidenced by the fans who enthusiastically scream “we want P.K.” at the games.
Moreover, since he joined the Canadiens, P.K. has clocked the most ice time of all the players, which makes him obviously a very valuable player.
P.K. Subban is a dynamic and exciting young player, and I hope that he will soon be re-signed with a long time contract.
Go Habs Go!
