Russian gay and LGBT rights activists faced violence from Russian riot police after an unauthorized rally in central Moscow.
Activists Nikolai Alexeyev and Yury Gavrikov along with other supporters were detained by the police.
Meanwhile Orthodox Christians and anti-gay supporters protested against the rally.
