It was just one game, not nearly enough time to make a lasting impression. However, for Hunter Shinkaruk, it was much more than skating at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Nov. 16 in his NHL debut. With Brandon Prust injured and Alex Burrows returning to Vancouver with his wife about to give birth to the couple’s third child, the offensively-gifted Shinkaruk was asked to play a game predicated on a dedication to defence.
