The Leafs also placed forward John Mitchell on injured reserve on Tuesday.

Both Toskala and Mitchell were injured in Monday night's 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders. Toskala left the game with a groin injury while Mitchell injured a knee.

MacDonald, 29, was originally recalled by the Leafs on Oct. 8 and played in three games, posting a 3.35 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage. In six games with the Marlies he has a record of 2-4-0, a 2.83 GAA and a .892 save percentage.

Mitchell had two goals and seven assists in22 games this season, while Toskala sported a 1-4-2 mark with a 3.91 GAA and .865 save percentage.

One thing positive about leafs

They never fail to surprise the viewers. Whatever you think is going to happen never does. The leafs are a "soap opera" with twists and turns and scandals galore. Most of the scandals were off the ice, though. Then ole Don Cherry comes on and says something that gets everybody in a tizzy. It's quite entertaining and sometimes the actual games are not bad. I think that the leafs are purposely puuting sand in their jockey shorts to slow themselves down because on Monday night they were flying like jet aircraft, while on most nights, they look like Cessna 150's.

A trade that makes more sense is Halak & Chipchura for Troy Brower, goalie Niemi plus Brent Sopel. Chicago needs the cap space to sign their young big three. Montreal could then package a defenceman and the Kostitsyn brothers to another team. Edmonton and even Toronto may be interested.

Ryan O'Byrne, Ben Maxwell and the 2 Kostitsyns to the Leafs for Kaberle and Stajan. Montreal could then send Markov in a move for Vinny L. when he is healthy.

Thanks to Burke and company this year is a total write off. It's time to make some changes like a trade or two and start fresh for next year.

Just a quick point on the Montreal gong show this year. How about ditching this nonsense about the old uniforms and get down to business. You cannot expect the players to be serious about the season, with all this goofiness. If you can't start on the upswing soon,January is coming and you are going to get creamed big time.

Wilson to Montreal for a case of 24 Molson Ex, for the boys in the leaf dressing room.

When will Burke and Wilson be fired? This team is poised to lose until then!

Is it possible Leafs will now look at trading for a goalie, or maybe bringing back Joseph or Kolzig?

So if you're not a leafs fan anymore why do you care if they fire Burke and Wilson. And most importantly, your opinion means even less now loser.

Smart idea Tim. Lets bring back an old, way past their prime goaltender. That should really help the leafs. Great idea genius.

After this season the leafs will have something like 11 unrestricted and 6 restricted free agents. Is that a fresh of enough start for you? So in the mean time, we can make some useless trades to make people like you happy.

Half our team is in sick bay and we are still winning...Laffs that is something you cannot say with all players on deck
Molson Ex or Canadian?
Wed, Nov 25, 09 at 01:12 AM
3 cases of 24 of Molson Canadian for Wilson, Burke and the entire leaf team would be a good trade. They could enjoy a few beers before we send them all to start up a new franchise in the AHL in St. John's NFld. where they would get a good arse kicking if they don't try to win games.

" YOU guys are BAD !! " IT'S JUST FRUSTRATION .JUST REMEMBER GUYS, MR. BURKE AND MR. WILSON CAN'T BE FIRED TILL AFTER THE OLYMPICS BECAUSE THEY'RE IN CHARGE OF THE U.S. TEAM, SO WE'RE STUCK WITH THEM, LIKE IT OR NOT, SOOOOOO!

GUYS, this should get your blood pressure up. The COYOTES are 13-10-1 with ALL their problems. LOOKS LIKE Mr. Burke missed the mark when he didn't fire Mr. Wilson after last year's nonsense and hire Mr. Dave Tippet.
Bodes well for Canada

If Burke and Wilson are in control of Team USA then that is one less team to worry about for the Gold Medal. I don't think the Americans have a deep enough team to compete with Canada no matter who is running them. I don't understand why the Leafs have to keep these two goofs around till after the Olympics. It might make a little sense if they were running Team Canada (thank God that nightmare won't happen) but what difference does it make in Toronto? I think they should skip the Games and stay in Toronto and try and fix the mess created here first. For some insane reason Burke makes a ton of money from MLSE and is the highest paid GM. They should not be giving him this vacation time to pursue his hobby when he has left the Leafs in a mess. As for the Olympics, the US are not going to matter, Canada and Russia for Gold and Sweden and Finland for the Bronze.

My you sound twisted and morbid. Might I recommend that you refrain from suggesting peddling "hamster brains" online; (PETA) "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" might ATTACK and have you committed!

Have you lost your mind! Wilson's going value stands equivalent to three beers.

I AGREE WITH YOUR REPLY COMMENT TO MINE(1.41AM.)BUT THE ANSWER, MY FRIEND, IS CALLED POLITICS !! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, BUT, WHO YOU KNOW,OR, YOU SCRATCH MY BACK I'LL SCRATCH YOUR. ALSO,I predict no changes with the UPPER BRASS, IF ANY,till after the Olympics are done which will fall before trade deadline in March in order to move a few players around. SORRY FOLKS, JUST THE WAY I SEE IT, BEST TO START THINKING 'NEXT YEAR'!!
