MONTREAL – There was some good news for the Canadiens Monday morning as they hopped on the ice for an 11 a.m. practice in Brossard. Scott Gomez and Matt D'Agostini were skating with the team, which is a welcome sight for head coach Jacques Martin. And both players will be back in action on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gomez is at centre on the second line with Max Pacioretty and Travis Moen. That's a vote of confidence for Tomas Plekanec, who remains between Mike Cammalleri and Sergei Kostitsyn.

D'Agostini looks like a go Tuesday night on a line with Glen Metropolit at centre and Kyle Chipchura on the left wing.

The other line has Maxim Lapierre between Tom Pyatt and Ryan White.

Jay Leach, who played forward Saturday, is back on defence and figures to be a healthy scratch tomorrow night.

Three other injured players skated earlier in the morning, with Benoit Pouliot, Andrei Markov and Hal Gill taking to the ice.

The injured Andrei Kostitsyn skated briefly on Monday without equipment after the rest of his teammates left the ice. It's the first time he has been on skates since blocking a shot with his foot last Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

However, there was no update on the status of his injury or how long he could be out of the lineup.
