Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Matt Bartkowski to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million.

Bartkowski appeared in 64 games for the Bruins last season and notched 18 assists without a goal while posting a plus-22 rating. He has 20 assists in 84 games with the Bruins since making his NHL debut during the 2010-11 season.

The 26-year-old Pittsburgh native scored his first NHL playoff goal against Toronto last May. He has yet to score in the regular season.

Boston also signed its 2014 first-round draft pick, forward David Pastrnak, to an entry-level contract. The 18-year-old Czech native was selected with the 25th overall choice of June's draft.
