The Detroit Red Wings' forward scored twice, including the game-winner with two minutes left, and also had Fedor Tyutin's shot from the red-line tick his stick and dip past goalie Chris Osgood in a wild 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"Those stink, but I should have them," said Osgood, whose 372nd career win tied Andy Moog for 13th on the all-time wins list. "It did (hit Hossa's stick), but it doesn't matter. It dipped under my arm, but c'mon.

"You get angry, but I think I've learned to keep battling and fighting. It sure isn't pretty, but we're getting wins."

Hossa, the speedy Slovak, now has 13 goals, three of them game-winners. His latest came from a sharp angle after he jumped past a defender off the faceoff and instantly pulled the trigger.

"I always try to do that (put the puck in the goalie's feet) if I have the right angle and little time," Hossa said. "I try to surprise him by shooting at the net. It found a way to get in again."

Hossa had given the Wings a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes with another timely tally at 19:34 of the second period. The winger beat goalie Pascal Leclaire with his quick release of Pavel Datsyuk's pass.

"He's (Hossa) been unbelievable for this hockey team, not just the way he plays, but he's a great guy in the room," said Wings forward Kris Draper, who got his first of the season into an empty net.

"He works so hard every night. I think everyone knew he was a world-class hockey player, but, until you're with him every day, you don't know how hard he works."

Hossa's goal snapped a tie that had been forged on a pair of power-play goals by Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg and Jiri Hudler while Jakub Voracek and Tyutin replied for the visitors.

However, all bets were off after Tyutin's stunning 100-foot goal 1:17 into the third period.

"They got a pretty lucky goal, but over 82 games, things like that will happen," Draper said. "It's how you deal with it and how you come out of it and we're happy with the way we did it."
