Final Score: NY Islanders 4, Carolina 3 (OT)
Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Kyle Okposo picked off an errant clearing pass and rifled the game-winner past Manny Legace with 14.4 seconds to go in overtime, as the Islanders extended Carolina's abysmal losing streak with a 4-3 triumph. The Hurricanes' prospects of snapping an epic 13-game skid looked promising after Tim Gleason's goal with 2 1/2 minutes left in regulation forced overtime. Carolina nearly won it moments before faltering as Tuomo Ruutu was stopped point-blank in the low slot by Martin Biron. Then, with the contest seemingly destined for a shootout, Okposo intercepted a Bryan Rodney clearing attempt and skated down the left side. He let the puck drag behind his body before whipping it past Legace on the stick side. John Tavares scored twice for the Islanders and leads all rookies with seven goals on the season, while Matt Moulson had a strong game and picked up two assists. Mark Streit also scored for New York, which came in having lost three of four. Biron finished with 25 saves in the victory. Ruutu and Ray Whitney also for the Hurricanes, who set yet another record of futility with the loss, matching the club's longest stretch without a win at 14 games. Legace allowed four goals on 25 shots.
Final Score: Columbus 3, Anaheim 2 (SO)

Huselius, who had missed Columbus' last four games with an upper body injury, also recorded an assist. Antoine Vermette had two assists, as the Blue Jackets rebounded from a 9-1 loss to Detroit on Wednesday. They have won three of four overall. Mathieu Garon made 32 saves in the victory. Ryan Getzlaf had two assists for the Ducks to extend his streak of games with an assist to nine, setting a team record in the process. Bobby Ryan and Todd Marchant had the goals for Anaheim, which has dropped two in a row. Jean- Sebastien Giguere had 27 stops in the setback. Nash sealed the Blue Jackets' victory by beating Giguere with an interesting move. He skated through the slot on the right side, but appeared to lose an edge and approached the crease on his right skate, with his left leg lifted in the air. Nash then crossed to the left side and lifted a wrister into the upper-left corner of the goal, ending the contest.
