MONTREAL — The Philadelphia Flyers pulled off the first major trade at Friday's NHL entry draft, acquiring all-star defenceman Chris Pronger from the Anaheim Ducks.
In return for Pronger and minor-league forward Ryan Dingle, the Ducks receive defenceman Luca Sbisa, forward Joffrey Lupul, a pair of first-round draft picks and a third-round pick.
Pronger, who played three seasons with Anaheim, was acquired by the Ducks from Edmonton prior to the 2006-07 season and was a key member of the Ducks' Stanley Cup championship team.
