Kevin McGran
Toronto Star
Kevin McGran's first hockey memory occurred in 1968, the year after the Maple Leafs had won the Stanley Cup. He wondered why the Leafs were two games over .500, had more points than any team in the West, and still couldn't qualify for the playoffs. He's been trying to fix the NHL ever since, but no one will listen. He's been covering the Maple Leafs for the Toronto Star since 2006. He started his career in journalism covering sports for The Canadian Press in 1989 and joined the Star in 1999, handling a variety of news, sports and editing assignments.
