Friends, family and supporters of our beloved Heritage Park gathered in Gasoline Alley on Dec. 2 for the Dick and Lois Haskayne hosted Christmas in Alberta-Radio Rosebud Live at Heritage Park.

The unique and fabulous event is the brainchild of the Haskaynes as Lois’s roots are in Rosebud. A delicious traditional Christmas dinner, super entertainment provided by the Rosebud Theatre Ensemble, a terrific selection of live auction items and that warm and fuzzy feeling one only gets when celebrating all things Christmas ensured all in attendance had a wonderful evening.

Guests dug deep this night and bid on auction items as varied as: a Rosebud Gourmet Dinner for 10 in your home prepared by Rosebud Mercantile’s executive chef Pat Murphy; a Flames game with dinner for four; a Founder’s Lounge gourmet dinner for 10 prepared by executive chef Jan Hansen; a day trip for 19 to Rosebud, including lunch and dinner by Rosebud Theatre; a gold-leaf Rocky Mountaineer excursion for two from Calgary to Vancouver with return flight; and a weekend in a villa located beside the second hole on the Quail Course at the Okanagan Golf and Country Club.

Guests in attendance this night included: avid park supporters Rosemary and Miles Atkinson, Rick and Linda Skauge, Betty and Ross Giles and Adele and Peter McKeen; Heritage Park president and CEO Alida Visbach; Haskayne family members Prostate Cancer executive director Pam Heard, Rod and Nicole Heard and Cynthia Heard; renowned philanthropist Ann McCaig; Rachelle Bessette; Heritage Park Foundation vice-chair Gail McDougall with Janey Pedersen; Joan Snyder; Haskayne School of Business distinguished chair in advanced leadership, professor Piers Steel; Calgary Herald editor-in-chief Lorne Motley and his wife Suzanne; Rosebud Country Inn’s B.J. Janzen with Bonnie Schwab; emcee Darrel Janz; Colin Jackson, chairman, Rosebud School of the Arts; and Rosebud Theatre actor Tim Hildebrand.
