She’s only been benched a week for some rather racy social media photos, and now Paulina Gretzky has come back to Twitter.
"Hi everyone I'm back! But shh don't tell my dad," the soon-to-turn 23-year-old Gretzky tweeted Wednesday night, apparently not wanting to have her retired hockey superstar dad, the first “Great One” (Wayne Gretzky, natch), to find out.
That tweet was quickly removed, and now her previous tweet “before the storm” — “Taking a break from twitter for bit. Happy Holidays!!! xoxo” remains on top … with a more wholesome photo of her family as an avatar.
Earlier this week, the aspiring entertainer was at the centre of a social media firestorm for having posted numerous photos of herself and friends partying in nightclubs, tanning and striking suggestive poses.
Paulina is the first-born child of Canadian hockey royalty in Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Jones.
Just prior to suspending her Twitter account, she had piped up: "Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media..haha #SIKEEE (sic)."
Paulina Gretzky first came to public attention at the 2003 Heritage Classic in Edmonton, an outdoors NHL game between the host Edmonton Oilers and the Montreal Canadiens, when she sang I Will Remember You.
Her song Collecting Dust is on the soundtrack to the MTV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
She has had bit acting roles in the 2009 remake of Fame as "Gorgeous Blonde Senior" and as the deputy in Guns, Girls and Gambling, starring Gary Oldman and Christian Slater.
Her mother, Jones, was a budding actress in the 1980s when she posed on the cover and in a semi-nude pictorial in the March 1987 issue of Playboy magazine.
